Division Three West A
Burry Port 34 Penybanc 15
Penybanc made their last trek of the season with a trip to Burry Port and, with little to keep either side interested, it was always unlikely to be a classic.
However, both teams tried to play rugby and it was Banc who struck first with Tom Gale going over.
The home team struck back immediately with a fine score before the impressive Luc Jenkins, playing his first game of the season, replied for the Tigers.
A converted try for hosts gave them a 12-10 half-time lead.
A couple of penalties for Port pulled the Llanelli side further clear before two quick-fire tries ended the game as a contest.
Banc, who were once again missing a host of players kept trying and managed to get another score for flanker Aled Danter after good work by back row colleague James Turrell before another score for the homesters brought down the curtain on a forgetful afternoon for the Tigers.
Again, the scrum functioned well but after losing fly-half Owen Higgins after 10 minutes and already missing the club’s other key playmakers, it was always going to be tough ask.
Banc play their penultimate game at home against Bynea where they will be looking for a marked improvement.
