Division Three West C
Pontyates 0 Betws 34
Betws went to Pontyates with an outside hope of winning the league and kept their side of the bargain.
The visitors raced to a 17-0 half-time lead after tries from Aaron Evans and Steffan Howells, with Dan Griffiths adding both conversions and a penalty.
After the interval, the home side came out with all guns blazing, but the resolute Betws side refused to surrender and the hosts saw a spate a yellow cards.
Two more solo tries by winger Ashley Evans and a pushover penalty try for the visitors wrapped up another impressive win.
Wins for the top two – Tregaron and Llangadog – ensured Betws remain in third.
Betws visit near neighbours Pantyfynnon next week in the final game of the season.
