Ynysmeudwy Athletic entertained Ystradgynlais in the first round of the Neath and District Premier Division Cup and the sides went into the half-time interval goalless.
Five minutes after the restart, the deadlock was broken when the hosts took the lead thanks to a goal from Ryan Rouse.
The hosts continued to dominate the second half with Dylan Jones solid at the back, snuffing out any Ystrad attacks and producing a man of the match performance.
The win saw Ynysmeudwy progress to the semi-finals of the cup where they are due to meet Glynneath Town.
Ynysmeudwy are home next Saturday to Sunnybank.
Reserve Division One
Bryn Rovers 3 Ynysmeudwy Athletic 1
Bryn Rovers ran out 3-1 winners over Ynysmeudwy Athletic in the Neath and District Reserve Division One with the visitors only goal coming from Tom Jones.
Athletic take on Ynysygwern in the Reserve Division Cup semi-final on Thursday (KO 6pm).
They travel to Ystradgynlais on Saturday in the Reserve Open Cup semi-final.
