Llandybie Tennis Club’s ladies have gained promotion to the South Wales Winter League Division One after securing runners-up spot in Division Two.
Over the past month, they have played out their final two matches of the campaign, claiming victories at Radyr and Cowbridge while Whitchurch failed to muster failed to muster a side to visit Llandybie.
Under the captaincy of Chloe Alpine, Alpine herself and Helen Morris won two events at Radyr while the pairing of Sara Walsh and Eryl Davies lost both of theirs in third-set tie-breakers.
However, Llandybie won the match on the count-back.
At Cowbridge, Llandybie won the match by three events to one and secured promotion.
Alpine and Hazel Davies won two events while Eryl Davies and Walsh won one.
All matches were supported by Bobbie Harries.
Mixed club night will be held on Tuesday nights for the next few weeks until the start of the Men’s and Ladies’ Summer League programme.
The Ladies campaign sees them starting at home to Llanelli on Tuesday, April 21.
The Men’s First Team begin by entertaining Rhondda on Saturday, April 25, while the second team travel to Aberaeron on Saturday, May 16.
