Ynysmeudwy Athletic travelled to Clydach and went into the interval goalless despite dominating possession and creating most of the chances.
The pressure finally told after the break when Athletic were awarded a penalty.
The in-form Ryan Rouse stepped up to fire the visitors in front.
The advantage was doubled thanks to an own goal late on which secured a well-deserved win for the visitors.
Man of the Match Liam Roberts dominated from defence.
Ynysmeudwy are away again next Saturday at Cwm Wanderers.
Ynysmeudwy Reserves travelled to Bryn Rovers in the Reserve Open Cup third Round and came away with a convincing win by 6-3 victory.
Marksman Daniel Picton fired in a hat-trick and there were goals from Tom Jones, Lewis Reddy and Cirean Williams.
The Reserves host Cwmamman United on Saturday.
