Carmarthenshire League Reserve Division Two

Kidwelly 0 Ammanford 4

The young Ammanford side sealed another victory in their penultimate game of the season to remain top of the table - for the time being at least.

The game started slowly with both sides struggling to find their rhythm though the Ammanford defence had to be alert as Kidwelly threatened on a few occasions.

The visitors took the lead through midfielder Simon Pritchard who headed in after striker Rhys Williams' header cannoned back of the crossbar.

Ammanford had numerous chances at a second soon after with wingers Jake Webb and Elgan Griffiths seeing opportunities well saved.

The visitors eventually got their second through Williams, who headed in a Lloyd Bevan corner.

Ammanford improved, with Gavin Thomas pulling the strings in the middle of the midfield.

A Nathan Spowart blocked shot towards the end of the half found its way to Williams who then got his second and Ammanford's third before the interval.

Ammanford made changes for the second half with Matt Warnes, Owain Jones and Scott Vobe entering the action.

The visitors seemed more composed and played much the better football before Griffiths scored the fourth and final goal.

The game fizzled out with Kidwelly well beaten though Hedd-Wyn Jones was called into action late in the game as Kidwelly pushed for a consolation.

Despite the average performance, Ammanford were happy to seal the points and look forward to their final game of the season, away at Tumble.
