Keri Davies saved Pontarddulais Workmens’ from the dread whitewash in the Llanelli and District Snooker League First Division as they crashed 6-1 to Upper Tumble Blues. Mark Hughes, Ian Tinnuche, C Rees, Carwyn Cue and Alan Samson all won for Blues.

Electricity C won 4-3 at Pont Cons A (Anthony Lewis 76 break) while Pontyberem (Craig Rees 43 break) edged a 4-3 win against Burry Port Legion, courtesy of Kieran Evans, Alun Harris and Darryl Treharne.

Bryn also edged an aggregate 4-3 victory against Morfa, after Jamie Tudor, Luke Lloyd and Craig Knowles won.

Nigel Harris, Alex Dickie, Mal Jones (44) and Mark Davies gave Cross Hands B a 5-2 success over Llandybie RFC. Dylan Jones and Sion Isaac replied.

In Division Two, Reading Room Reds earned a welcome 6-1 win at Calsonic Rivals, while Dai King and Jonathan Thomas won as Glanaman side CGMD lost out 5-2 to Trimsaran A.

Garnant Club’s five men lost 5-2 at Electric B with Steve Pitstop and Lyn Hopkin winning for the visitors.

In the third division, Cross Hands A grabbed a shock 7-0 win at clear leaders Snooker World B. Lyn Morgan, Gary Stead, Arwyn Pritchard, Gareth Jones, Matthew James (33) and Hywel Pritchard all came out on top.

Colin Jones, Clive Jones, Mike Davies and Matthew Davies were winners for Tycroes RFC B in a 5-2 victory against Loughor while Ponthenri won 5-2 at Upper Tumble Reds. Chris Bishop and M Davies were on the ball for the latter.

Gorseinon Workmens, for whom Julian Wilde (43 and 30 breaks), Darren Williams, Darren Thorne and Mike Dodd were on song, defeated Pont Cons B. Gwyn Williams and Gary Thomas replied.

Jamie Bishop, Tom Carey and Dai Porter gave Pont Cons C a 4-3 win at New Lodge B, whose winning trio were Terry Morgan, Marcus Courtney and Andrew John.

Meanwhile, Trimsaran B defeated Llandeilo Hall 6-1. Ness Palmer-Ides provided the solitary Llandeilo point.
