Llanelli and District Snooker League leaders Pontyberem Workmens’ suffered a shock 7-0 whitewash defeat at Llandybie RFC as Dylan Jones (49 break), Richard Davies, Dar Sigsworth, Sion Isaac, Liam McGhee and Rhodri Treharne pulled off an unlikely rout.

Burry Port Legion took full advantage, leapfrogging the morning leaders thanks to a 6-1 victory against Pont Cons A, for whom just Gwyn Wiliams won.

Morfa also made the most of the situation with a 6-1 success against Pontardulais Workmens. Only Steve Davies saved the whitewash.

Elsewhere, New Lodge A earned a 5-2 win against Llandybie Social, whose winning duo were Wyn Major and Peter Howatson. Bryn meanwhile were edged out 4-3 at Electric C.

In Division Two, both the top two sides lost.

Leaders Burry Port Reading Room Blues went down 5-2 at bottom of the table Penygroes RFC where Jamie Gimblett, Mark Walters, Jeff Jones and Chris Waters shone in the shock turnaround.

Second-bottom Reading Room Reds inflicted a 6-1 surprise win over second-placed Electric B, allowing Llanelli Cons B to jump into second place thanks to their 7-0 demolish of the CGMD fishermen.

Trimsaran A defeated Calsonic Rivals 4-3 while Matchroom A enjoyed a 5-2 win against Cons A.

In Division Three, Lee O’Neill, Alan Hiddlestone, Adrian Thomas and Phil Evans earned Pont Cons B a 5-2 victory against Tycroes RFC B, whose winning pair were Stuart Williams and Matthew Davies.

Mark Jones and Jeff Howells contributed points for Cross Hands C, beaten 5-2 by Upper Tumble Reds. Kevin Evans, Gerry Keaney, M Davies and M Sainty were on the ball for the latter.

Elsewhere, Marcus Courtney, G Langford, Bill Bachelor and Terry Morgan gave New Lodge B a 5-2 win at Llandeilo Hall. Eric Stevens and Richard Friend struck for the hosts.?
