Things are heating up at the top of the Llanelli Snooker League first division where Pontyberem Workmens’ earned a valuable 5-2 win against Snooker World A, inspired by Kieran Evans’ 75 break and 40 clearance. Kevin Sellwood, Alun Harris and Wyn Davies were also on song for the workmen while Shane Wright and P Williams replied.

Elsewhere, bottom-side Cross Hands B gained a welcome 5-2 win over Llanesco B thanks to Alex Dickie, Alan Parnell, Richard Watts and Nigel Harris.

Paul Doughton and Gwyn Williams won as Pont Cons A slipped up 5-2 to Llandybie RFC, for whom Sion Isaac, Dar Sigsworth, Richard Davies and Liam McGhee all won.

Another Pontardulais side, the Workmens’ enjoyed a 5-2 victory against Electric C courtesy of Keri Davies, Jonny Ball and the Griffiths duo Adam and Duane.

Morfa won 4-3 at Upper Tumble Blues while Matchroom B won 4-3 win against New Lodge A and Burry Port Legion lost 4-3 at Bryn.

In Division Two, Burry Port Reading Room Blues (Leighton Roberts, 51 break) lead the way after a 5-2 success against Garnant Club. Nick Davies and Steve Lewis (39) won for the Amman Valley men.

Calsonic Rivals earned a comfortable 6-1 result against Llanelli Cons B, whereas Electric B won 4-3 against Trimsaran A.

Dean Bromham and V Jones were on top for Tycroes RFC A, beaten 5-2 at Llanelli Cons A.

In Division Three, clear leaders Snooker World B won again, 5-2 against Loughor, thanks to Mike Woods, Andrew Whitfield, Jac Evans and S Crump. Paul Barnfield and Dai Warlow replied.

Anthony Stephens, Thomas Evans, S Lewis and G Thomas gave Great Mountain, Tumble, a 5-2 win at Trimsaran B while C Jones, Arnallt Evans and Mike Davies gave Tycroes RFC B an aggregate 4-3 success against Ponthenri.

Meanwhile, Andrew John, G Langford and B Bachelor edged New Lodge B to a 4-3 win against Cross Hands A. Lyn Morgan, Gary Stead and Gareth Jones replied.

Julian Williams, Geraint Thomas, Dai Mayhew, Dai Porter and Tom Carey all won as Pont Cons C ran out 6-1 victors over Llandeilo Hall, whose solitary point was from Eric Stevens.

Elsewhere, Mike Davies and Jules Wilde helped Gorseinon Workmens’ inflict a 4-3 defeat onto Cross Hands C. Mark Jones, Gary Joshua and P Evans struck for the visitors.
