Welsh League Division Three
Bridgend Street 4 Ammanford 1
Ammanford’s unexpected downturn continued as they suffered another heavy defeat – their third on the bounce - going down 4-1 to Bridged Street.
The visitors, who started the season with 15 back to back wins, struggled to adapt to the heavy pitch.
The hosts scored on 10 minutes from a headed corner and Ammanford had let off on 30 minutes when Street had a clear chance for a goal, but the shot went wide.
It appeared to be a costly miss when Ammanford levelled on 40 minutes with a well-worked and well-taken goal by Bret Enoch.
The visitors nearly took the lead just a minute from half-time with a Kurtis Morgan effort that went just wide.
Although the hosts had much the better of the opening half, Ammanford began to take control of the game for the next 30 minutes but then again fell apart late on, conceding goals on 75, 80 and 87 minutes to end a dismal eight days which has seen them leak 15 goals.
The return of centre-half and skipper Rhys Owen, who will be back after a four match suspension, will be a welcome addition when they face a stern test with the visit of high-flying Llyswerry (KO 2pm). Rhys Fisher is set to miss out after being side-lined with an injury.
