Ammanford co-driver and 2013 FMP Rally Challenge and FMP Junior Champion Claire Williams is set to embark on an uphill task in 2015 following confirmation she will be teaming up with the reigning BTRDA 1400C class and Overall ANWCC Forestry, Junior and Two-Wheel Drive Champion, Warwick driver Matthew Jackson to contest the BTRDA Kick Start 1400 Rally Championship in the highly competitive 1.4S Class.

The partnership comes off the back of a very successful 2014 campaign for both Williams and Jackson.

Although Williams enjoyed a successful year enhancing her already considerable experience by competing in the BRC Challenge Trophy, she also made her Irish tarmac debut as well as competing selected rallies alongside Jackson in the BTRDA 1400 Rally Championship.

The 25-year-old’s efforts proved pivotal in helping Jackson net numerous championship titles in a Super1000cc specification Nissan Micra despite being up against far superior machinery.

Their formidable success together ultimately became the catalyst to join forces in 2015.

“Although I have co-driven for Matthew in 2013 and 2014, I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to team up with such a naturally talented driver for a full calendar of events,” said Williams, who claimed top co-driver honours in both the Quinton Motor Club and Ammanford Motor Club run championships.

“Hopefully we’ll produce yet another successful assault on various championships.

“Ever since the first rally we did we gelled as a partnership should. I think that and our dedication and hard work we put in was a key ingredient to our success last year. We also have a very good team supporting us on events so I am confident that we’ll meet the targets that we’ve set ourselves”.
