Tycroes U15s 21 Llanelli Wanderers U15s 14

An injury-hit Tycroes lined up to face Llanelli Wanderers after encouraging performances in their two previous games.

The Wanderers were first on the board when they were able to break through some poor tackling in the Tycroes midfield to claim an early 7-0 advantage.

The Tycroes youngsters eventually woke up and started putting phases together but committed too many errors as the visiting defence stood up to the challenge.

Home pressure finally told just before half-time when a great sniping run from Lee Lewis saw the scrum-half go over under the posts. Cian Anderson added the extras to take the sides into the break on level terms.

The second half open with Tycroes camped in the Wanderers 22 for a ten-minute spell which saw two drives held up short of the line before the ball was knocked-on.

The hosts continued to put together some good passages of play but found themselves knocking-on on the line again until some quick thinking from Anderson saw him dive over the line from a quick tap-penalty. He stepped up to convert his own score to give the hosts a 14-7 lead.

Wanderers levelled late on, but it was Tycroes who had the last word when they ran a penalty inside the visitors 22 and Anderson was able to cross the line again before converting with a kick five metres in from the touch-line.
