The 10 men of Ammanford produced a superb performance to defeat Rhoose 3-2 at Jenner Park on Tuesday night and make it 14 wins from 14 games.

With only nine minutes on the clock, Rhys Owen was given his marching orders to leave Ammanford bare at the back and facing an uphill challenge.

But, in the face of adversity the away side responded.

Craig Frater twice rippled the side netting after cutting inside from the left, but he did assist in his side’s opener.

Jamie Rano sent a long throw forward to Brett Enoch on the halfway, who held the ball before turning and playing to Frater. The striker flicked through Dayle Selvage on the right and the full back whipped in a delightful first time cross for Matthew Fisher to head home 27 minutes in.

However, minutes later the away side attacked on the left wing, before unleashing a shot from close range which cannoned in off the far post.

After the interval, the visitors took a strangle hold on the game. Early on, Mikey Morris threaded Frater through who unleashed a half volley from 25 yards to put his side 2-1 up. Then on 62 minutes, the Man City youth academy graduate bagged his 24th of the season when Enoch squared for him in the area, before he found the net via both posts.

Rano was on hand to keep his side ahead with a brilliant save, but would have felt hard done by when the linesman flagged that a ball into the area had crossed the line when it seemingly fell yards short.

The hosts nearly equalised on 88 minutes when a shot at the far post ricocheted off the bar, but the visitors held on to claim all three points.
