Llanelli and District Snooker League Division Two leaders Garnant Club crashed 6-1 at Tycroes RFC A, following frame wins by Matthew Bromham, Martin Davies, Tim Lewis, Steve Francis and Geoff Davies. Only Keith Williams was able to halt the rugby club’s charge.

Elsewhere in the division, Paul Thomas made a swift 56 break in Matchroom A’s 4-3 victory against Reading Room Reds while Llanelli Cons A earned the bragging rights with a 5-2 win over Cons B and Calsonic Rivals were beaten 5-2 at Reading Room Blues.

Up in Division One, with leaders Legion Whites having a week off, their closest rivals tried closing the gap with Morfa reducing the deficit slightly after a 5-2 victory against Snooker World A. Alan Jones and Leighton Davies were winners for the Ammanford side.

Pontyberem Workmens’ also closed the gap with a similar 5-2 win over Cross Hands B, thanks to Kieran Evans, Kevin Sellwood, Alun Harris and Darrell Treharne, Alex Dickie and Richard Watts won for the latter.

At the other end, bottom-side Llandybie Social A, for whom Lindsey Pugh and Wyn Major struck, lost out 5-2 at Bryn & Trallwm.

Elsewhere, Rhodri Treharne, Liam McGhee and Mark Hughes gave Llandybie RFC an aggregate 4-3 win at Electric C while Martin Tucker (70 clearance), Mark Tucker, Johnny Wilcox, Cliff Wilcox and Lee Burder earned New Lodge A a fine 6-1 win at Pontarddulais Workmens’. Jonny Ball was the Workmen’s solitary frame-winner.

Pontarddulais Cons A meanwhile were grateful to Paul Doughton (44 break), Anthony Lewis (35, 31) and Steve Doughton, who all ran out winners in a 5-2 success against a man-light Matchroom B.

Clear leaders Snooker World B show no signs of letting up in Division Three with a thumping 6-1 victory against a depleted Gorseinon Workmens’, thanks to Martin Pereira, Steff Crump (36), Andrew Whitfield and Mike Woods. Only Tudor Lloyd replied.

Trimsaran B also won 6-1- Upper Tumble Reds their victims with just Gerry Keaney claiming a point for Tumble.

Dai Lewis and Nigel Davies were winners for Llandeilo Hall, defeated 5-2 by Pontardulais Cons B. Adrian Thomas, Alan Hiddlestone, Hugh Williams and Phil Evans won for the Bont.

Mark Jones, Brian Jones and Jeff Howells edged Cross Hands C to a 4-3 win at New Lodge B. Archie Davies and Stuart Davies were on song for the home side.

Wins from Jeff Howells, Mark Regola and Verdun Lewis gave Ponthenri Social a 4-3 success at Pont Cons C, whose winning trio were Jamie Bishop, S Evans and J Williams.

In the Knockout Cup, Pont Cons A progressed with a 5-2 passage against Gorseinon, courtesy of Simon Williams, Gwyn Williams and the Doughtons, Paul and Steve.
