Llandovery College scrum-half Harry Randall - from Tycroes - has been included in Rugby World’s British All Stars Team of the Term.

In the latest edition of Britain’s leading rugby magazine, Randall is one of only two Welsh boys – along with Monmouth flanker Callum Saunders - selected on the basis of an outstanding contribution to the success of their school side in the 2014 Christmas term.

Selection for the Team of the Term is a reward for those players who not only played well individually but were key team men.

Randall has been brilliant for Llandovery College not only against Welsh opposition in the Colleges League but also against some of England’s top sides.

He was a leading light in the 41-20 win over crack outfit Sedbergh School from Cumbria, his darting runs, swift service, clever kicking and reading of the game a feature of a match of the highest quality.

College coach Iestyn Thomas was delighted to read that his scrum-half made Rugby World’s All Stars XV.

“It is well deserved as Harry has developed well this year” said Thomas.

“We all know that he has lightning pace but his judgement of when to run and when not to run has now made home a better all round player.

“He has learned to mix his game well and keep the opposition guessing his next move and as such it has benefitted those outside him.”

Randall was the star of the show when Wales U16s beat England 25-6 in April 2013 and the recipient of the BMW Man of the Match award with a stunning performance.

He also scored a fine try for Wales U16 in the narrow 24-22 defeat to England in April 2014 and has been include in the Wales U18 squad that is preparing for the European U18 Championships in Toulouse at the end of March.
