Burry Port Legion extended their lead at the top of Llanelli and District Snooker League after a ninth win of the season courtesy of their 5-2 victory over Snooker World A. Only A Turner and Andrew Williams won for the Ammanford side.

Second-placed Pontyberem led Pontarddulais Cons A 2-0 thanks to Wyn Davies and D Lonegan until Bont hit back to win 5-2 thanks to a late rally from Jamie Tudor, Paul Doughton, Anthony Lewis and Simon Williams.

Elsewhere, Carwyn Cue, C Rees and Alan Samson gave Upper Tumble Blues a 4-3 win against bottom-side Llandybie Social A, who replied via Wyn Major, Peter Howatson and Karl Evans.

Morfa posted a 5-2 victory over New Lodge A, while Electric C dropped just the one frame in defeating Llanesco B 6-1.

Alex Dickie, Mark Davies and Alan Parnell edged Cross Hands B home 4-3 at Bryn, and Matchroom B won 4-3 at Pontarddulais Workmens’, for whom Steve Davies and Jonathan Ball struck.

A 5-2 win at Matchroom A took Llanelli Cons B to the top of Division Two. Garnant Club, who had a bye, lie just a point behind on level terms with Trimsaran A, who won 5-2 at Tycroes RFC A. Matthew Bromham and D Jones were on song for the rugby club.

Llanelli Cons A beat Calsonic Rivals 4-3.

In the basement-battle, Penygroes RFC leapfrogged Burry Port Reading Room Reds thanks to a 4-3 victory courtesy of winning frames from Jamie Gimblett, Terrence Howells and Jeff Jones.

In Division Three, leaders Snooker World B still lead by six points despite their bye while Great Mountain climbed to second with a 5-2 win against Pont Cons B, thanks to Anthony Stephens, Mark Martin, Elton Rees and James Bradley. Hugh Williams and Phil Evans replied.

Jimmy Thomas and Brian Jones won for bottom-club Cross Hands C in a 5-2 loss at Llandeilo Hall. N Davies, A Jameson, Eric Stevens and Dai Lewis all won for Towy Valley side.

Ponthenri Social won 4-3 at Cross Hands A, thanks to the efforts of C Howells, Jeff Howells, Robert Regola and Kev Lewis. Roy Foster and Arwyn Pritchard won for the home side.

Meanwhile, Jamie Williams, Kristian Rees and Geraint Thomas edged a 4-3 victory for Pont Cons C against Upper Tumble Reds. J Williams, M Davies and L Williams hit back for the visitors.

James Wilde and Darren Williams won for Gorseinon, who slip to third after a 5-2 defeat at neighbours New Lodge B, for whom Andrew John, Archie Davies, Bill Bachelor and Stuart Thomas struck.

All teams should note that all cup competition results MUST be in with the Secretary by January 26.
