Towy ABC hitman Kyle Mayes travelled to Folkestone to represent Wales in a schoolboy boxing contest against England's southern counties and came home with an impressive victory under his belt.

Mayes boxed out of the red corner for Wales against Chris Dunn from Stroud and edged a scrappy opening round which saw the fighters taking their time to work each other out.

After some advice from his coaches, Mayes came out firing in the second and found his reach well, showing his opponent just what he was capable off and taking the round comfortably.

In the third, the Towy youngster boxed with all his skill and determination to show Dunn who was boss and come away clear winner by a unanimous decision.

Friday night saw another Towy boxer in action as Spencer Thomas took on Aaron Bird of Premier Club at the Aberafon Hotel.

In a hard-fought contest Bird came away the winner.

Towy ABC is to host a dinner show at Betws RFC December 12 when Jake 'Hitman' Anthony will be in action alongside younger brother Joe who is set to make his ring debut.

Also in action will be Mayes, Thomas, Ryan Redfern and local favourite Phil Jones. Tickets are available by calling 07799 867648.

Towy ABC is always interested in new talent and any males or females interested should come along to the gym in the Rec Ammanford from Monday to Friday between 5pm and 7.30pm. Everyone welcome from the age of 10.
