One of the night’s top games saw Pontyberem Workmens’ defeat Llandybie RFC 5-2, courtesy of Kieran Evans, Wyn Davies, Alun Harris and Craig Rees. Richard Davies and Liam McGhee replied.

Elsewhere, Burry Port Legion crashed 6-1 at Pont Cons A who saw Simon Williams (52 break, 22 clearance), Paul Doughton (33 break), Kyle Steins, Anthony Lewis and Steve Doughton all coming out on top.

Matchroom B posted a 5-2 success against Llanesco B, and M Tucker, Lee Burder, Jonny Wilcox and Mike Wood earned New Lodge A a 5-2 victory at Llandybie Social A Huw Morgan and Peter Williams saved the hosts blushes.

Bryn needed the aggregate to edge a 4-3 win against Electric C while Adam Griffiths and Steve Dunn were on top as Pontardulais Workmens’ sank 5-2 to Morfa.

In Division Two, Dai King and Jonathan Thomas were on the ball for CGMD as the Glanaman cuemen went down 5-2 to visiting Llanelli Cons B. Reading Room Blues went down 5-2 against Penygroes RFC, whose points were via Jamie Gimblett (35), Paul Crippin (54), Jeff Jones and Terrence Howells.

Calsonic Rivals edged a 4-3 win against Trimsaran A, and Reading Room Reds narrowly avoided a whitewash loss, beaten 6-1 by Electricity C. Matchroom A meanwhile claimed a 4-3 victory at Llanelli Cons A.

In the third division, Trimsaran B suffered a surprise 5-2 loss to Cross Hands A - Hywel Pritchard, Gart Stead, Arwyn Pritchard and R Griffiths won for the latter. Pont Cons B posted a 5-2 win at Tycroes RFC B with Adrian Thomas, Alan Hiddlestone, Phil Evans and Hugh Williams winning. Colin Jones and Arnallt Evans won for the Rugby Club.

Eric Stevens, Richard Friend and N Davies were on song for Llandeilo Hall, still looking for the win after a narrow 4-3 loss at New Lodge B. Andrew John, Roy Morgan and Stuart Thomas won for Lodge.

Similarly, winless Cross Hands C lost narrowly 4-3 at Upper Tumble Reds, for whom John Williams, C Bishop and M Davies struck - Mark Jones, Gary Joshua and A Griffiths won for the visitors.

Elsewhere, C Howells, Kevin Lewis, Robert Regolla and Mark Regolla gave Ponthenri Social a 4-3 win at Gorseinon Workmens. Mike Dodd and Tudor Lloyd won for the Brighton Road side.
