Cwmgors light-welterweight champion Chris Jenkins enjoyed another faultless victory as he finished off Poland's Jacek Wylezol on Friday in the first round demolition, courtesy of two rib-crunching right hooks to the body.

Family man Jenkins held on to his unbeaten record with an easy win over Wylezol at Rhydycar due to a technical knockout with the Pole unable to continue.

The win entitles the 26-year-old to take a shot at the British title, currently held by Scotland's Willie Limond.

Previously, Jenkins had been due to face captain of the London 2012 Olympic team Tom Stalker for an eliminator ahead of a bid for the British Light-Welterweight title at the Magnificent Seven Fight Again event on Saturday, October 25.

However, Stalker pulled out of the fight some three weeks before the bout and opted to fight Jack Catterall instead, only to suffer the first loss of his career.

Trainer Ronnie Morris, said: “We really wanted the Tom Stalker fight, but he pulled out at the last minute.

“It was disappointing, however, we managed to arrange a warm up fight with Wylezol.

“We were expecting Chris to go the full six-rounds, but he stopped him in the first."

"He did a great job.”

The Jenkins camp are currently waiting for the purse bids to come back so he can get a shot at the British Title.

If that happens hopefully the Rock and Roller can fight the current light-welterweight British champion, Scotland's Willie Limond, before Christmas.
