Dinefwr a'r Fro 4 Swansea City III 0
Ammanford-based Dinefwr a’r Fro’s win over visiting Swansea was marred by the broken jaw suffered by skipper Lynne Llewelyn who was struck in the face by the ball late on.
Things began badly with a water-logged forcing the match to be relocated to the pitch at Tregib and the continuous thunder storm overhead throughout gave proceedings an ominous atmosphere as Dinefwr looked to make up for their opening day defeat to Gowerton.
Despite the gloom, Dinefwr dominated much of the first half, earning numerous penalties and conjures a series of stunning strikes from Danielle Murray, but without reward.
As the half progressed both sides lost players to injuries and with surface water forming, the possibility of competing the match grew less and less likely.
Swansea took every opportunity they had and planted on target strikes at goal only to be saved by one of Dinefwr's new trio of sisters, goalkeeper Fiona Witt.
Sibling Bella then created a break in midfield and fed sister Becci to opening the scoring before the interval.
The second half saw Swansea upping the pace and creating a series of attacking plays.
The hosts battled hard and took a dominant lead with a second goal from Amy Brookes followed by a third from Kira Davies.
The win was cemented with a stunning Amy Brookes strike.
With conditions deteriorating Dinefwr captain Llewelyn was struck in the face.
Dinefwr travel to long-time rivals Radnor this weekend.
