Ammanford Ladies 2 Trinity 1
After a difficult start to their debut season, Ammanford Ladies claimed their first ever victory with a 2-1 win over Trinity.
Ammanford’s ascendancy throughout the first half was based on a solid defensive foundation with the two Ffions, Cape and Howells, putting excellent performances at centre back, together with Naomi Cresci who enjoyed a good game at right back.
The half ended 0-0, but marked the hosts first 45 minutes without conceding.
The second half was again dominated by the home team, who controlled possession for large periods. Ammanford’s opening goal – their first of the season – came courtesy of Yasmin Gutteridge’s powerful finish.
Her second followed soon after with another well-taken finish.
The visitors grabbed a consolation late on.
Kirsty Jenkins and Bethan Davies were excellent on the day and the win was a testament to the improvements made by the whole squad over recent weeks.
