Ammanford 0 Cwmgwendreath 6

Ammanford started their second ever game confidently with both teams sharing equal amounts of possession.

However the visitors looked the more threatening and ultimately took advantage of their hosts’ inexperience.

Ammanford however could count themselves unlucky to be two down at half-time with both the visitors scores coming from own-goals after well-delivered crosses.

Ammanford created a few chances of their own in the half, the best of which fell to Yasmin Gutteridge who, after a determined run, saw her shot from the edge of the box fly just over the bar.

The visitors had more of the possession in the second half and scored minutes after the restart.

The home team fought hard throughout but were unable to break down a well-organised defence.

They conceded a further goal midway through the half, before two late strikes as the pace of the game caught up with Ammanford. Goal keeper Nia Jones again made string of excellent saves in both halves including stopping a late penalty.

The whole team can be proud of their work rate, attitude and commitment. This performance was indeed a big improvement on the previous match with forwards Helen O Rourke ,and Yasmin Gutteridge, together with midfielders Catrin Owens, Kelly Fletcher and Nadia Cresci all putting in solid performances.
