Bryn Rovers AFC 1 Cwm Wanderers 3

PREMIER Division newcomers Cwm claimed the bragging rights in the meeting of near neighbours thanks to a comfortable 3-1 victory at Cae Criced.

Bryn never got going encounter and found themselves 1-0 after they failed to clear a corner with two attempts - the third ended up in the back of the net.

The visitors took the game to their opponents early on and had three shots cleared off the line as Bryn put their bodies on the line to stay in the game.

The breakthrough was inevitable however and it was soon 2-0 as yet another soft goal summed up Bryn's day.

An unlikely lifeline arrived when the Cwm keeper flattened Julian Jones.

The referee showed yellow despite the custodian being last man and Jones dusted himself down to convert the spot-kick and offer Bryn a glimmer of hope going into the interval.

There was a huge call for the official just after the restart when a Cwm defender got two hands to the ball on the line and stopped a certain equaliser.

The ref’s decision to wave play on was met with anger from the entire Bryn team but it was not enough to sway the man in the middle.

Bryn had several chances to level but hit post and bar, while a Del Patel diving header was ruled out for off side.

It was not to be Bryn's day and the visitors scored a late third as Bryn switched off yet again.

A day to forget for the Rovers as their great early start to the league came to an end.
