Saron muscleman Mark Lewis continued his staggering return by claiming the 100kg Masters Equipped class at the Welsh GPC-GB Powerlifting Championships.
Lewis, who only returned to powerlifting in May 2013 after a 13-year absence – also took the opportunity to shatter the British dead-lift record with a stunning 300kg lift. The previous UK record had stood at 265kg.
The victory ensured Lewis secured a place in the GPC British Powerlifting finals, set to take place in Eastbourne on August 9 and 10.
Lewis is now training hard the British championships and was keen to express his gratitude to thopse who have backed him throughout his return to the sport.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to Andrew Scott and everyone at Primal Gym in Ammanford for their sponsorship and support,” he said.
