Alpha Fasteners West Wales League
Ammanford thirds lost the toss and were asked to field first at Port Talbot in the Alpha Fasteners West Wales League.
Skipper Ian Rees led by example and took four wickets, supported by Steffan Phillips and Joseff Rees who took a couple of wickets each.
Port Talbot struggled to reach 80 for nine off their 40 overs.
Ammanford’s reply got off to an appalling start as they collapsed 11 for five.
Enter 13-year-old Rhys Jones who batted with maturity far above his age and struck a controlled 40 not out.
With support from Josh Davies and Steffan Phillips he led the thirds to a tremendous four-wicket victory.
