Llanelli and District Bowls League
Parc William 95 Cwmaman 59.5
Cwmaman were again faced with the problem of a depleted side when they travelled to Parc Howard in search of a morale-boosting victory in the Llanelli Bowls League.
But Cwm were to be disappointed again.
Despite winning two of the four rinks, a heavy defeat on skip John Sam Jones’ rink took the match beyond Cwm and proved decisive for the hosts while Alan Thomas’ rink also lost out by a sizeable margin.
On the plus side, Cwmaman, who had to play threes on the other two rinks, took them both - despite incurring the required points deduction.
The trio of Alun Morris, Alec Leslie and skip Byron Davies managed to run out 24-9 winners - adjusted to 21.5-9 - while the visitors’ other two league points were earned by Norman Raeburn, Matthew Edwards and skip Dyfed Lewis, whose comfortable 32-11 victory was adjusted down to 24-11.
In the end, four points were as much as Cwm could have hoped for in the circumstances. Parc Howard claimed ten points.
Cwmaman would like to give a warm welcome to Mike and Julie Williams who have just started playing with the club.
