Goalkeeper Dafydd Jones was the star of the show when Llandeilo AFC held its annual presentation evening recent.

The shot-stopper scooped the Second Team Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year awards as well as collecting the Outstanding Player of the Season trophy from club sponsor Chris Rees.

The First Team Player of the Year award went to Adam Gittins while the First Team Players’ Player of the Year was won by Dean Ellis.

Dafydd Thomas claimed the First Team Golden Boot as top scorer and Tom McCarley picked up the Second Team’s trophy.

Sion Mattey received the Joseph Michael Rees Memorial Trophy for Young Player of the Year while the Thomas Gosling Memorial Shield went to Dave Jones.

The Clubman of the Year went to club secretary David Grove, who also received the Open Trophy for Lifetime achievement.

Grove, who is currently battling bowel cancer, gave an emotional speech in which he thanked everyone involved at the club for their support over the previous year.

Carmarthenshire League representatives Colin Jenkins and Philip Jones presented all the players with medals after the club’s double success of both First and Second teams achieving promotions from their respective divisions.

The evening took place at the Stag and Pheasant in Carmel and the club would like to thanks hosts Julia and Ray for their efforts.
