Llandybie ladies have played two matches over the past fortnight, claiming two vital wins in the Summer Tennis League.

Playing at home to Llanelli they won the game by five events to one.

Captain Chloe Alpine and Hazel Davies won their two events, as did Helen Morris and Gaynor Sutcliffe with the pairing of Helena Nicholas and Daphne Jones winning one.

The ladies then travelled to Aberaeron and won the match by four events to two.

Both the combination of Chloe Alpine and Daphne Jones and that of Helen Morris and Eryl Davies won their two events.

The unsuccessful third pairing were Tracey Alpine and Venetia Simpson.

The men’s first team were at home to Carmarthen and the match was drawn 3-3.

Aled Griffiths and Chris Gray won their two events, while the pairing of Iwan Nicholas and Alex Wigley won one and Matthew Davies and Rhodri James lost their matches.

All the matches were supported by LBS Builders Merchants.

At the halfway stage to the season, the ladies are sitting at the top of Division One of the South Wales league.

The next round of events will see the ladies travel to Swansea awhile the men’s first team visit Bridgend, the men’s second team host Aberaeron.

Ladies club night is on Tuesday and the men’s is on a Wednesday - new members are always welcome.
