Llandybie Tennis Club’s ladies claimed a home victory over Aberystwyth by four events to two recently with the pairing of Chloe Alpine and Hazel Davies winning both their games.

The pairings of Daphne Jones and Gaynor Sutcliffe, and Helen Morris and Eryl Davies each won one.

The ladies then travelled to Llandeilo and enjoyed a comfortable 5-1 victory.

Chloe Alpine and Helen Morries won both their two matches as did Hazel Davies and Eryl Davies while Daphne Jones and Helena Nicholas won one.

The club’s men’s first team were victors in Aberystwyth, courtesy of a narrow 5-4 win.

Matthew Davies and Rhodri James won all three of their events while Emyr Nicholas and Aled Griffiths came out on top in two.

Iwan Nicholas and Alex Wigley lost their three events, albeit with two of the defeats coming in third-set tie-breaks.

The matches were supported by Amman Business Centre.

The men’s second team match at home to Haverfordwest was lost to the weather and is due to be played next Thursday.

The next match for the ladies sees them set to host Llanelli while the men’s first team are due to travel to Carmarthen.

The men’s club night is on Wednesday while the ladies take centre stage on Tuesdays. New members are always welcome.
