SWCA 2nd XI – Division One
Ammanford (170-9) beat Clydach (166-8) by 1 wkt
Ammanford seconds returned to winning ways with a victory over Clydach at the Park.
Skipper Nathan Jones won the toss and asked Clydach to bat. The visitors were soon in trouble at 27 for four with Huw Jenkins taking three early wickets.
However, 15-year-old Jack Todd helped rebuild the Clydach innings with a well-constructed 66, ably supported by R Jones with an unbeaten half century.
Clydach’s innings closed on 166 for eight. Huw Jenkins (3-34) and Lloyd Bevan (2-34) were the pick of the home bowlers.
Man of the match Huw Jenkins gave Ammanford a great start, scoring 56 from his position as opener. Skipper Nathan Jones (33) provided fine support.
However, at 130 for four, a flurry of wickets put pressure on the tail-enders, but 15-year-old Jacob Liles and 14-year-old Mathew Davies held their nerve, enabling Ammanford to achieve a one-wicket victory.
