Camarthenshire League U14s

Ammanford 4 Camford 1

After two weeks off, Ammanford returned to action in a bottom half tie against a strong Camford outfit.

The hosts started the better with the defence of Ben Rees, Jac Price, Scott Jones and Jack Beech providing a solid foundation at the back.

The first goal came when captain Allen George went on a powerful run down the left and squared the ball for Rhodri Bowen to tap home.

The momentum remained with the hosts, and a second came soon after when a long goal kick from Ciaran Slee found its way to Nathan Thomas who finished calmly. Camford came back into the game but could not seem to pull a goal back. Ammanford's third, and arguably the goal of the game, came from George, whose flicked header from a Cian Anderson corner found the top corner.

The second half saw Camford making the most of the wind, but Slee remained determined to keep a clean sheet.

Tom Evans, Kian Sheridan and Sion Davies again had solid games with Evans a constant threat down the right flank.

The game turned fiesty with frustration rising amongst the visitors, but Ammanford kept their heads and got a deserved fourth when George finished well after a superb run by Harry Thomas down the left.

Camford hit back immediately after the restart but it was too little, too late as Ammanford claimed three much needed points in their push up the table with three games remaining.
