Cwm Wanderers enjoyed the sweet taste of revenge and climbed to second in the Neath and District League Division One with a comfortable 4-1 win at Cilfrew Rovers, who had claimed the points in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.

Two goals from Alex Williams, a great team goal rounded off by Alex Malgat and a strike from the outstanding Phil Eadey raised Cwm well into the promotion hunt.

In the Reserves Open Cup semi-final, Cwm’s young side lost 3-2 away against the vastly experienced Briton Ferry.

Meanwhile, Cwm’s thirds climbed to second in Reserve Division Three thanks to a 15-0 hammering of Mond. Daniel Parry bagged six, Nicholas Davies three and Kevin Smith two while Steffan Berrow, Julian Phillips, Gareth Jenkins and Adam Roberts also got on the scoresheet.

Goals from Jack Holland and Elliot Myles ensured Cwm’s youth side remained in second thanks to a 2-1 win over visiting Tumble. The win keeps them well in contention for a play-off semi-final spot.
