The Amman Valley took London by storm at the weekend with no less than six finishers in the big race.
Amman Valley Harriers Marc Evans (2hrs 54mins 40secs), Paul Butcher (3.08.32), Rachel Allock (3.27.22), Llinos Jones (3.29.49), Donna Morgan (3.56.59) and Cath Owen (4.24.06) shone in the London Marathon.
“All six Amman Valley Harriers who participated finished the race and they all recorded excellent times,” said club secretary Rose Fitzgerald.
Meanwhile, the other club members have not been resting on their laurels over the weekend.
Andrew Rees, of Llandybie, took part in his first ever big race – the Welsh Marathon at Llanelli – and recorded an excellent time of three hours and 48 minutes while Helen Janney (1.58.46) came in just ahead of Kath Treharne in the Llanelli Half Marathon. Treharne was making her first half-marathon appearance.
Closer to home, eight members of the club carried out marshalling duties for the Ammanford Triathlon, which attracted 200 entries to Ammanford.
