Teams from Ysgol Dyffyn Aman took part in the final stages of the two most prestigious Welsh schools tournaments recently.

The U18s side competed in the Presidents Cup while the U16s made it through to the final day of the Ann Smart Trophy.

The grand finale of both competitions were held at the Dee Side Leisure Centre and featured the best schoolgirl players and teams in Wales.

Both teams had to play all the teams in their round and found that the standard of netball incredibly high with every game proving was very fast and extremely hard fought.

Results were mixed for the Amman sides, but the culmination of the day was the selection of the top 20 players for each age group.

Catrin Soons, Catrin Rees and Ellie Morgan were selected from the U16s squad while Mia Jones was chosen from the U18s.

Having won through the preliminary rounds to reach the final stage, Ysgol Dyffryn Aman is reaping the rewards of all the hard work and determination of its players and coaching staff.

The successes show that netball has a bright future in the Amman Valley.
