Ynysmeudwy entertained FC Clydach and saw the visitors take an early lead before Jonny McClelland levelled from the penalty spot.
Clydach regain the advantage before the interval and doubled their loead just after the restart, leaving the hosts with it all to do.
Man of the match Sypliwtchak reduced the arrears before another strike from McClelland again levelled proceedings.
The Athletic went ahead for the first time courtesy of an own-goal before McClelland fired home another spot-kick to put the hosts well and truly in the driving seat.
Dyland Jones extended the home lead before a second own-goal put the icing on teh cake for Ynys.
The Athletic travel to Britton Ferry on Saturday.
Ynysmeudwy Reserves saw their game against Ynysygwern postponed. They host Giants Grave on Saturday.
