(Llandeilo won 4–2 on pens)

Llandeilo came out on top of an epic semi-final encounter in the Jayne Stephens Cup thanks to a penalty shoot-out.

Welfield started the brighter and went two goals up inside ten minutes, however a fine finish from Daniel Crayford saw Llandeilo reduce the arrears. However the hosts found themselves 3-1 down just five minutes later.

Jamie Woodall reduced the deficit with a well-struck penalty, but again the visitors hit back to earn a 4-2 half-time lead.

After the break, Sion Mattey scored a fine effort before Crayford leaping like a salmon to level.

He completed his hat-trick to put the hosts 5-4 ahead with 15 minutes remaining.

But with six minutes left, Welfield levelled to take the tie into extra time.

The visitors went ahead again, but with only seconds remaining Llandeilo were awarded a second penalty and Woodall again buried the spotkick to take the sides to a shoot-out.

When Woodall opened the scoring, the visitors failed to respond and Gavin Winstanley put the hosts in a commanding position before Welfield pulled one back.

Charlie Bleasdale made no mistake with Llandeilo’s third, but the visitors converted to keep themselves in the tie.

Gareth Norton continued the hosts’ perfect record before the visitors put their fifth effort wide to ensure Llandeilo earned their passage into the final.

Llandeilo will take on Pontarddulais at Stebonheath Park, Llanelli, on Saturday April 19.

On Saturday, the sides play out a league dress rehearsal at Tre-Gib while the first team travels to Abergwili.
