DINEFWR found themselves in the relegation zone once again after a 4-0 defeat on Saturday against visiting Cardiff University.

The table-topping visitors set the pace early on and had the hosts on the back foot in the opening exchanges.

The students continued to dominate and spent long periods of the first half in Dinefwr’s defensive area.

The pressure told and the visiting went into the interval with a comfortable 3-0 lead to their names.

Dinefwr set out from the restart refreshed and looked to hunt down the visitors.

However, despite a hearty second half performance, inspired by captain and man of the match Danielle Harrison, with greater possession and several attacking passages, Dinefwr failed to find the net and a short corner midway through the half sealed their fate.

This was some encouragement however, not least an impressive debut from 12-year-old Ellie Morgan.

With two games in hand on Swansea University in eighth and four to play in total, Dinefwr remain hopeful they can return to winning ways and stave off relegation. They travel to Whitchurch Saints this weekend.
