South Wales Women’s Hockey League
Premier Division Two
Dinefwr a’r Fro 2 Dowlais 2
AMMANFORD-BASED Dinefwr a’r Fro claimed a massive point against high-flying Dowlais to ensure they remain three points clear of the South Wales Women's Hockey League Premier Division Two drop-zone.
A goal a-piece from Emily Williams and Amy Brooks was enough to secure a vital point against second-placed Dowlais, with the vistors having faltered of late after making a hugely impressive start to the campaign.
Dinefwr meanwhile appear to have finally turned the corner and look to be heading in the opposite direction after seeming at last to have found their feet following an indifferent start to the season which has seen them battling at the foot of the table for most of the first half of the season.
However, five points from their last four games - including a massive morale-boosting 3-0 away victory over fourth-bottom Kingston last week have ensured the Ammanford side are now starting to turn their attention upwards rather than fearing what's below.
Dinefwr will look to build on their upturn in form to secure their Premier Two status heading into the final five games of the season.
