A 15-year-old Penybanc schoolboy has earned his place in the record books thanks to a stunning performance at the Welsh Schools Weightlifting Championships.
The event, held at Sport Academy Wales in Haverfordwest, witnessed Ysgol Dyffryn Aman pupil Arthur Arnold claim first place in the 77Kg-plus category.
Year 11 pupil Arthur, who trains in a makeshift gym created by dad - and coach - Aled, lifted 77kg in the snatch section and 90kg in the clean and jerk.
The two lifts, plus the total of 167kg, were all Welsh schoolboy records and have ensured Arthur qualifies for the Briutish Schoolboy Championships, due to be held at Birmingham on March 1.
Dad Aled is no stranger to the big stage haviong previously represented Wales in the Commonwealth Games.
