Llandybie tennis club’s women’s team have found themselves on the road in recent weeks with two away games in the South Wales Winter League Division Three.

The ladies first travelled to Glamorgan where they claimed a valuable point thanks to a 2-2 drew in the matches played.

Captain Chloe Alpine and Eryl Davies won their two events while the pairing of Helen Morris and Daphne Jones were unfortunate to lose both their matches.

The Llandybie ladies then paid a visit to Bridgend where an impressive all-round performance saw them come away comfortable winners by three events to one.

The next match for the ladies will see them play host to Cowbridge.

There are three matches remaining of the winter league and Llandybie find themselves in second place at present with Radyr currently heading the league table.

Llandybie are due to travel to Radyr in their final away match of the winter season and the winners of the make-or-break fixture will surely by crowned Division Three champions for 2014.

The ladies and men’s team will then look forward to the summer campaign which will see them back on court from April.
