AWS League – Division Three
Penybanc 40 Hendy 34
Penybanc entertained struggling Hendy on Saturday in what was the club’s Second XV’s first action of 2014.
The match was most certainly a game of two halves with the Banc going into the half-time interval five tries to one up thanks to scores from Steffan Charles, Zac Rees, Andy McCall, Mark Tench and Hywel Thomas.
Hendy came right back into it in the second half however, scoring four tries of their own to make it a real contest.
No 8 Cellan Harris helped himself to a try to ease Banc nerves before fly half Mathew Lloyd slotted a penalty.
Hendy were to have the last say though with another try to give them two well-deserved losing bonus points.
Next week sees Banc welcome Amman Quins in what will surely be another tough game.
