Ammanford U14s 1 Llangennech U14s 0

After a run of defeats and poor results, Ammanford went into the final game of the year looking for a first win with the strong wind in their favour.

The hosts began brightly with Allen George and Cian Anderson battling in midfield to claim the majority of possession in the early stages.

Ammanford had chances to take the lead through Nathan Thomas, Harry Thomas and Tom Evans, but their efforts were thwarted by the alert Llangennech keeper.

The goal came on 20 minutes thanks to Anderson's superb outside of the box effort.

His shot, with the assistance of the wind, looped over the keeper to provide Ammanford a deserved lead.

Llangennech began to take control in the last ten minutes of the half, but Ammanford remained resilient and held the lead going into the interval.

With the wind against them for the second half, the hosts were under immediate pressure as Llangennech attacked sought an equalisier.

But the home defence Ciaran Slee, Jac Price, Scott Jones and Sion Davies all put in outstanding performances while Ben Rees in goal produced some top class saves in another great individual performance.

Ammanford held out with captain for the day, Rhodri Bowen, leading from the front.

Ammanford claimed a huge victory and a much-needed three points.

Ammanford will look to continue these performances in the new year.
