Ammanford 0 Penrhiwceiber 1

In a match they could so easily have won, Ammanford went down by the odd goal.

Once again they conceded in the final ten minutes having dominated the early stages and looked by far the better team.

In truth the hosts should made the most of their early possession and could have scored from consecutive corners only for the visitors to scramble the ball away each time with a series of goal-line clearances and deflections.

Ammanford continued to create chances and, on 35 minutes, Alex Thomas went around his marker only to be felled by a desperate lunge inside the box.

However, the referee thought otherwise and waved play on to leave the Ammanford bench fuming.

The visitors began to grow into the game more as the half wore on and could easily have scored before the break when a misplaced back-pass left keeper Jamie Rano scrambling.

Fortunately, the Ammanford stopper was able to race to the edge of his box and get the touch needed to send the ball clear when a goal seemed certain.

Ammanford continued to have the better of things however at the start of the second half but again failed to find the back of the net when dominating the game.

Again the visitors grew into the half and – true to Ammanford form – a set corner proved crucial as the visiting strike was able to rise unchallenged to fire home.

Ammanford rallied and had another great penalty shout turned down by the officials, but their pleas went unanswered and it was Ceiber who claimed the points.
