Division Six West

Llandybie 56 St Davids 14

Llandybie entertained St Davids on Saturday seeking the win to put them top of the table and started off with a bang.

From the ruck, the ball came to prop Keenan Jones to crash over, converted by Ben Featherstone. Tom Rees scored from a simple take-and-give converted by Featherstone.

The home team were in determined mood and from a good forward drive Rhydian Jones forced his way over.

Hooker Rhys Cann was finding captain Andrew Thomas with regularity in the line-outs and a good catch put the backs away. Tom Rees forced his way past three tacklers to score with Featherstone again adding the extras.

Winger Dafydd Nicholas made a good run down the right and when tackled the ball was quickly recycled to the opposite flank and Rees put Featherstone away. He kicked over the cover for full back Johnny Lloyd to score, before adding the conversion.

Jones again used his strength to score, with Featherstone making it 42-0 at the interval.

From a scrum, flanker Jonathan Davies picked up and went blind running in from 20 yards to extend the lead and Featherstone stretched it further still.

Llandybie took their foot off the gas, allowing St Davids to build up a head of stream to hit back with a consolation try.
