Open Cup – First Round
Cwm Wanderers 4 Harp Rovers 0
Cwm returned to winning ways with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Harp Rovers in the first round of the open cup at Parc Afon Twrch.
A fantastic hat-trick from Oliver Randford and a goal from Josh Williams ensured the Wanderers an easy passage into the second round.
The seconds suffered a narrow defeat at neighbours Ystradgynlais, going down 3-2.
Despite the loss, the game marked another encouraging performance from the second string, who had trailed 2-0 at the interval.
Cwm recovered to level thanks to goals from Dane Clancy and Paul Bradshaw, but they failed to hang on for an all-important point.
The thirds were unlucky to come up against a Cilfrew side who included a sprinkling of their first team players, losing out 6–3.
Meanwhile Ynysmeudwy Athletic Reserves saw their game at Giants Grave abandoned with the hosts leading 2-1.
They travel to Ynysygwern on Saturday (KO 2.30PM)
Ynys Firsts’ game against Borough was postponed due to bad weather. They have another weekend off coming up due to West Wales Cup fixtures.
