Llandybie made the long journey to Tregaron hoping to continue their unbeaten run in the league.
The early exchanges were pretty even with Ben Featherstone making a fine tackle to prevent a score.
But Llandybie soon got on top however and, using the elements well, pinned the home team back with a series of well-placed kicks.
From a good driving maul Tregaron infringed and Llandybie Number 8 Rhydian Jones took a quick tap to charge over, Featherstone converted.
Llandybie were playing some good rugby while Tregaron repeatedly looked to kill the ball.
The visitors went into a 16-point lead with three further penalties from Featherstone before the interval.
The home coaches must have had some choice words at half-time because Tregaron came out all guns blazing.
Llandybie’s tackling however was excellent and held the home forwards up time and time again with the front row of Dai Lloyd, Darren Jones and Rhys Cann performing well and taking two against the head.
Captain Andrew Thomas performed well in the line-outs and stand in second row Tracy Lewis and flanker Mike Tench made some big hits.
Rhydian Jones was outstanding ball carrying with Dai Lloyd and Jonathan Lewis doing their share. Huw Williams at centre was difficult to stop continually fed by Luke Yelland and Tom Griffith.
From another sound scrum Llandybie moved the ball wide, Thomas Griffith kicked ahead with three backs giving chase and Johnny Lloyd won the race to touch down wide out. Featherstone again kicked the points.
Llandybie took their foot off the gas and Tregaron fought back in the last quarter to score two quick tries, albeit from two lucky bounces. A penalty right at the end gave them a point.
Next week Llandybie entertain LLangadog in the cup.
