Llanelli and District Snooker League Round Up
Pontarddulais Cons A convincingly beat visiting Snooker World A to claim a 6-1 Llanelli Snooker First Division victory. On top for Bont were Steve Doughton (41 break), Paul Doughton, Gwyn Williams, Kyle Steins and Simon Williams. Elwyn Lewis’ win saved a whitewash.
Elsewhere, Adrian Phillips, Nigel Harris, Mark Davies and Mark Martin were on top for Cross Hands B; 5-2 winners against New Lodge A, for whom the Tuckers, Martin and Mark both won.
Upper Tumble Blues hammered Electric C 7-0 while Morfa (Keith Moore 52 break) defeated Penygroes RFC 5-2. Paul Crippin and J Jones won for the rugby club.
Legion Whites’ Adrian Hopkins knocked in 65 and 47 breaks in his side’s 5-2 loss to Llandybie RFC, for whom Dylan Jones, Kieran Peregrine, Liam McGhee and Dar Sigsworth struck.
Llanesco B crashed 6-1 at Pontarddulais Workmens’ while Shane McDonnell made a 55 break in a 4-3 Matchroom A win over Llandybie Social A, for whom Huw Morgan, Roger Morgan and Peter Howatson won.
In Division Two, Electric B saw off a man-short CGMD 5-2. Rhodri Llewelyn and Alun Rees struck for the Fishing Club.
Elsewhere, Llanesco A defeated Bryn 4-3, and Pontyberem Workmens’, for who Kevin Sellwood, Kieran Evans, Darryl Treharne and Craig Rees were on the ball, beat Llanelli Cons A 5-2.
Phil Lee and Derek Morgan were on top for New Lodge B in a 5-2 loss to Garnant Club. Nick Davies (32), Rhys Fisher, Stuart Dunn and Steve Lewis won for the latter.
Meanwhile, Cons B sealed a 5-2 success against Tycroes RFC A, whose points were via Geoff Jones and Arwyn Rees. In the big Burry Port derby, Reading Room Reds comprehensively outpointed Reading Room Blues 7-0.
In the third division, Jeff Howells, Gary Joshua and Jimmy Thomas gave Cross Hands C a 4-3 aggregate win at Tycroes RFC B. Steffan Davies, Stuart Williams and R Davies won for the hosts.
James Hagley, Andrew Wood and Geraint Rees gave Llandybie Social B an aggregate 4-3 victory against Cross Hands A. Gareth Jones, Matthew James and Richard Griffiths were on song for the latter.
Carway B edged a 4-3 win against Llandeilo Hall, whose winning-trio were Bob Cash, Tim Walters and Dai Lewis.
J Evans, Jay Mainwaring, John Williams and James Bradley were winners as Upper Tumble Reds claimed a 4-3 success at Ponthenri, whose winning pair were Mark Regolla and K Lewis.
D Lewis, Craig Paul and Alun Ashmund won for Snooker World B who defeated Pont Cons B 4-3. Alan Hiddlestone, Robert Davey and Jamie Bishop won for the visitors.
Sion Guard and Dai Warlow were on top for Loughor in a 5-2 loss at Pont Cons C, whose winning quartet were Steve Evans, Tom Carey, Julian Williams and Geraint Thomas.
