Tycores 24 Gorseinon 20
After having an enforced break last weekend due to marital commitments, this much anticipated clash between Tycroes and Gorseinon at Parc Cae Gelli, lived up to all expectations.
The game started slowly with Tycroes taking an early lead through full back Carwyn Richards.
The home team then sat back on their laurels and waited to see what Gors would throw at them.
It did not take long for them to find out, and the away side took the lead through wing Mathew Stonham although he missed with his own conversion.
He then missed several opportunities before handing over the kicking duties to full back Josh Simmons, no further scores were rewarded before half time with both defences coming to the fore.
With a five point to three half time lead the away side were put on the back foot early in the second half and new Tycroes recruit, centre Steffan Jones crossed for his first try for the club. Richards slotted the conversion.
Simmons kicked a penalty to narrow the lead before Nicky Jenkins crossed to give Gorseinon a 15-10 lead.
As the game was entering its latter stages Dean Bromham crossed in the corner to give back the lead to the homesters after Richards put over the conversion.
Back came Gorseinon, after a dodgy lineout throw which the referee saw nothing wrong. The Gors back line swept down field giving Jamie Evans the chance to score wide out Gors back in the lead 20 points to 17.
The resulting kick off was fielded by the Tycroes forwards who worked the ball down field. Giving the home team a final chance to take the game.
They duly obliged with Steffan Jones crossing for his second and Richards converting to give Tycroes a 24 points to 20 win.
