Division Four West
Penybanc 50 Milford Haven 0
Unbeaten Penybanc hosted bottom side Milford Haven on Saturday in what proved to be a tougher test than the seasiders lowly position would suggest.
The away team’s big pack kept things tight early on using their big ball carriers around the fringes.
Once again though, the Tigers defence stood firm as always.
Cellan Harris and Ricco Dallavalle really shone in a tough opening quarter before slick hands saw prolific wing Wayne Price power over.
Minutes later, after a typical Chris Jones burst, scrum half Ioan Jones spotted a gap to go over.
Next up was centre Mathew Brayley who took route one for the Tigers’ third before Price finished off a lovely move for the bonus point and a half-time lead of 24-0.
Despite the plucky away team’s never give up attitude, the tries continued to come.
Scrum half Jones grabbed a second in a fine display and capped a man of the match performance with a deserved hat-trick shortly after.
A superb Wayne Williams break and fine hands by Jones and Harris saw centre Christian Madge pick up a seventh before wing Price capped another great game with a third.
There were standout performances all over the park but Jones stood out in attack and defence.
The result takes Banc to five from five and 23 points from a possible 25 so far this term to ensure a great start to life in Division Four.
This Saturday will surely be our toughest test however when the Tigers travel to high-flyers Gowerton.
