Llanelli and District Snooker League

The return of the Llanelli and District Snooker League saw Llandybie RFC make a solid start with a 5-2 win against Electricity C, thanks to wins from Richard Davies, Dar Sigsworth, Dylan Jones and Rhodri Treharne.

Elsewhere in Division One, New Lodge A beat Morfa 4-3 with wins from Martin Tucker, Mark Tucker and Mark John while Llanesco B sealed an opening night 5-2 win over Legion Whites.

Meanwhile, Ceri Rees, Mark Hughes, Alan Samson and Nick Walters earned Upper Tumble Blues a 5-2 victory at Snooker World, whose winning duo were Alan Jones and Richard Jones.

Elsewhere, Paul Crippin, Paul Garritty and Andrew Lloyd gave Penygroes RFC A a 5-2 win over a depleted Matchroom B side, while Jamie Tudor, Simon Williams and Anthony Lewis edged a 4-3 win for Pont Cons A at Llandybie Social A. Wyn Major, Peter Howatson and Howard Wood replied.

In Division Two, Nigel Powney, Alun Rees, R Evans and Mark Evans helped CGMD, Glanaman, secure a 5-2 win against Llanesco A.

Garnant Club started with a 5-2 win against Tycroes RFC A following wins from Stuart Dunn, Rhys Fisher, Steve Lewis and Lyn Hopkin.

Burry Port Reading Room Reds began with a thumping 6-1 win at Llanelli Cons A and Carway A went one better, hammering a player- short New Lodge B side 7-0.

Bryn & Trallwm edged a 4-3 win against Gorseinon A while Reading Room Blues grabbed a 5-2 victory against Llanelli Cons B.

In the third division, John Williams, Jamie Bradley, Tony Rees and Dave Woods helped Upper Tumble Reds a 5-2 success against Snooker World B - Dafydd Davies and Martyn Pereira won for the Ammanford cuemen.

Gary Stead, Gary Joshua, Robert McKie and Brian Jones were on top for Cross Hands C who ran out 5-2 winners against Carway B whereas James Hagley, Davis Sheppard, Dennis Williams and Geraint Rees were on the ball for Llandybie Social B in a 5-2 victory at Pont Cons B.

Calsonic Rivals nicked a 4-3 success at Llandeilo Hall. For the hosts, Richard Friend, Adam Challis and Tim Walters were on winning form.

Richard Griffiths, Gareth Jones and Roy Foster did enough to give Cross Hands A an aggregate 4-3 win at Loughor. Matthew Donald, Dai Warlow and Lucy Williams replied.
